"DRAGS ALOUD" IN AT THE MOVIES

Profile
Described by Joan Rivers as “wonderful, entertaining, terrific, and a great great act”.

If you loved “Priscilla” and “Men in Tutus”, then “Drags Aloud” will have you laughing aloud in their latest theatrical offering… “AT THE MOVIES” Internationally acclaimed, multi-award winning with sell-out seasons in New York, Edinburgh, and London's West End, Australia’s fabulously camp and deliciously funny “Drags Aloud” are back with their gloriously twisted theatre satire on celebrity and cinema - “At The Movies”.
Glamorous Melbourne-based performing troupe, they are award winners from the Australian Rainbow Awards, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Dazzling audiences with their unique parodies, Drags Aloud have received a host of five-star reviews and the Directors prize at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. They were also invited performers for Joan Rivers' 2009 Australian Tour. These 20th Century “divas with a difference” will make you laugh and cry and as they sing, mime and mimic their way through some of Hollywood's most-beloved movies and stars. Funny, irreverent, and with more costume changes than a Kylie concert, “At The Movies” has bucketloads of glorious pop and corn in a parody of epic proportions.
Now they have Hollywood's sacred cows and celebrities in their sights once more. It's an offer you can't refuse

“Drags Aloud” is Australia's only professional drag ensemble to tour internationally with sell-out shows at Edinburgh's Fringe Festival, New York's Off-Broadway and London's West End. What a night - hilarious - out Priscillas Priscilla! Drags Aloud, are the real transgendered, transvestite, gender alluring drag queens/kings - the genuine Aussie article.

Amanda Munroe, Jessica James, Krisdel Vase and Linda Lamont’s tantalising cross-genderism, powerful delivery, and wonderful comic timing......the pace is electric, the send-ups of movie musicals are hilarious and spot on and the energy, exhausting.

The footage and quick changes are breathtaking in their execution and there is nowhere for an audience to hide - you have to go with the flow on this hilarious trip to the movies. Each character could sell-out a night on their own but as Drags Aloud the combination is as electric as the competition - each act equates and outshines it’s predecessor in skill, humour and enjoyment.

We are dragged through the movies - literally from the depths of the Titanic to Somewhere Over the Rainbow. The in your face Aussie style of this world class troupe rocks you with sheer entertainment value. This is hilarious and top quality entertainment. The fastest and funniest hour ever - quite supercalafragalisticexpialidocious!
