Prepare for the magic that is Supanova – Australia’s Comic-Con – where fandom comes to life. The Pop Culture Expo will weave its magic in Brisbane (November 11-13) and Adelaide (November 19-20), with tickets going on sale at 3pm Wednesday, 28th September.
The highly anticipated event has grown even bigger with its latest guest announcement, featuring the return of many fan favourites.
Off the back of a successful tour of Sydney and Perth with Supanova in June, Charmed and Pretty Little Liars star, Holly Marie Combs, returns to see 2016 out with a bang. She joins her on-screen daughter and Pretty Little Liars co-star, Lucy Hale.
Up next is Merlin heartthrob, Sir Gwaine aka Eoin Macken. The Irish actor currently stars as Dr T.C. Callahan in the medical drama The Night Shift, and will soon appear on the big screen in the film Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
Fandom doesn’t come more down to earth than the larrikin duo that is Jade Gatt and Ryan Lappin. The pair have seen a recent nostalgic resurgence in popularity following their days hosting the children’s program Cheez TV, between 1995 and 2004.
Symphonic rock band Critical Hit will pay tribute to video game soundtracks, with the band’s Co-Founder, Michael Gluck, and Warcraft and StarCraft composer, Tracy Bush producing an electrifying live concert celebrating music from the most iconic video games of all time.
The hits keep coming with geek-songstress Meri Amber and her nerd-tastic tunes, about love and life while being a geek. She’ll perform original songs from her albums Pop Goes the TARDIS and Retro Sherbet at the event across both weekends.

SUPANOVA BRINGING THE MOON AND STARS FOR 2016 BRISBANE AND ADELAIDE

Supanova Pop Culture Expo – Australia’s Comic-Con – is heading to Brisbane (November 11-13) and Adelaide (November 19-20), bringing with it the crème de le crème of talent and giving fans the chance to see the stars from their favorite films and television shows.
Supanova’s latest guest announcement includes the lead actor from the upcoming series American Gods. Ricky Whittle plays Shadow Moon in the television adaption, based on the novel by Neil Gaiman. Prior to American Gods Ricky found fame on the soapie Hollyoaks, and recently starred in the sci-fi series, The 100.
“Whovians” (fans of the long-running series Doctor Who) will recognize another new Supa-Star guest: Michelle Gomez, who recently played the Doctor’s arch nemesis - the renegade Time Lord Missy. The Scottish actress is popular with fans for her other roles on Green Wing and Bad Education.
The popularity of Teen Wolf is demonstrated in the show’s longevity, with a sixth season recently announced for production. It’s only fitting that Supanova will also play host to Ian Bohen – best known as the alpha werewolf, Peter Hale.
Fans of animation won’t be left disappointed. Recognize that voice? It’s probably John DiMaggio - the American actor who voices an array of animated characters, most notably Bender from Futurama and Jake the Dog from Adventure Time.
Futurama co-star, Billy West also joins the line up. He’s been the voice of some iconic characters, including Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd and the Red M&M. His most notable work includes the title characters from Ren & Stimpy, and the abovementioned Futurama as Fry, Professor Farnsworth and Dr. Zoidberg, to name a few.

SUICIDE SQUAD’S ‘KATANA’ JOINS SUPANOVA SUPA-STARS TOURING IN NOVEMBER 2016

To help celebrate the release of one of geekdom’s most anticipated films of the year, Suicide Squad, Supanova Pop Culture Expo - Australia's Comic-Con – has proudly announced Karen Fukuhara, who stars as the sword-wielding ‘Katana' in the film, is to join the ever growing Supa-Star squad of celebrities for their Brisbane (November 11-13) and Adelaide (November 19-20) expos.
Suicide Squad opens nationally in theatres today, giving Australia the scoop one day ahead of the U.S. release on August 5. Landing her first leading role in a feature film, Karen plays a masked assassin; the aptly named 'Katana’ who first appeared in comic books in 1983 in DC's The Brave and the Bold #200. In the film the fearless yet fatal samurai is tasked acts as bodyguard to protect Rick Flag, a tactical expert and the leader of the Suicide Squad mission.

NATHAN FILLION HEADLINES SUPANOVA 2016 NOVEMBER BRISBANE AND ADELAIDE EVENTS

Supanova Pop Culture Expo’s, Australia’s Comic-Con, November tour is off to a booming start with Canadian actor Nathan Fillion headlining the celebrity guest reveals for Brisbane (11-13 November) and Adelaide (19-20 November).
Fillion, who recently finished filming the long-running series Castle, gained cult status playing Captain Malcolm Reynolds in the Joss Whedon sci-fi series, Firefly, and its spin-off film Serenity. He will soon star as Wonder Man in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, and will be the voice of Captain Superior in the upcoming animated film, Henchmen.
Added further to the exciting lineup is Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars, A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song); the vocal half of on-screen comedic duo Jay and Silent Bob, Jason Mewes (Dogma, Clerks); and Claudia Wells, who gained notoriety as Jennifer Parker, Marty McFly’s girlfriend in Back to the Future.
Supanova will also feature the most prolific voice actors in animation and video gaming, with Steve Blum (Transformers, The Regular Show), Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Ghost in the Shell, Naruto), and Veronica Taylor (Pokémon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).
