"THE RAT PACK FROM VEGAS" |
ABSTRACT Entertainment proudly presents Direct from a sell-out tour of the U.S., Germany and the U.K comes the Encore Australian Tour 2016 of "THE RAT PACK FROM VEGAS", a spectacular live concert production that takes you on a journey to the music of the most legendary trios in the history of entertainment simply known as THE RAT PACK would be a prominent influence to aspiring performers today as they were throughout their incredible careers. Audiences both young and old are just as fascinated and intrigued today by the music of THE RAT PACK members Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. It was this love of the music and the respect and admiration for the men behind it that brought a trio of multi-talented performers together as one to recreate an era long passed but still remains very much alive today thanks to the efforts and talents of ROBBIE HOWARD who portrays the Chairman of the Board Frank Sinatra plus original cast mates JOHNNY EDWARDS who portrays the always charming slightly tipsy King Of Cool Dean Martin, and NICHOLAS BROOKS who portrays the multi-talemted Candy Man himself, Sammy Davis Jr. Each of them bring a variety of talent which when combined together brings back to the days of old when THE RAT PACK ruled Las Vegas. All the songs, all the fun and laughter are brought centre stage as Australian audiences will be taken on a nostalgic trip back in time. "THE RAT PACK FROM VEGAS" will be touring Australia in November/December 2016, proudly presented by ABSTRACT ENTERTAINMENT. THE RAT PACK FROM VEGAS Cast: ROBBIE HOWARD - Frank Sinatra Capturing the essence of Frank Sinatra, ROBBIE HOWARD stands apart from a look-a-like.sound-a-like entertainer. He works the audience with the same charisma as Old Blue Eyes himself. The music, the comedy, the wit, the smile, they are all there as he smoothly brings THE RAT PACK era of Sinatra back to life in a modern setting. His portrayal as the Chairman of the Board is coo and hip, appealing to all demographics. He has been an headlining act in Las Vegas for more than ten years, and never fails to offer a refreshing portrayal. Critics have raved of his performance stating "Frank Sinatra is coolly, confidently embodied by Robbie Howard, whose musical intonations and phrasing nicely evokes Old Blue Eyes..." (New York Times); "Portraying the famous Sinatra is Robbie Howard, and he sounds so much like Sinatra it will send chills down your spine...." (East End Theatre Reviews, New York); and many others. JOHNNY EDWARDS - Dean Martin JOHNNY EDWARDS was born and raised in an Italian neighbourhood in Brooklyn, New York. At an early age he had a love and fascination with music, developing a talent for impersonation and improvisation - he would entertain at family gatherings sometimes alongside his now famous cousin, singing sensation and pop icon Cyndi Lauper. It was her early influence that made him appreciate everything creative in art and music...later getting experience to see first-hand her success and what the entertainment business was all about. From 1993 to 2004 JOHNNY EDWARDS had become one of the premier Elvis Presley tribute artists nationally and internationally. In 2000 he appeared in the Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell movie "3000 Miles To Graceland". In 2004 he was awarded Best Performer by Las Vegas Magazine What's On. His talent brought him to Japan, Korea, Singapore, Berlin, Switzerland and Puerto Rico. By the end of 2003 JOHNNY EDWARDS made a conscious decision to retire from performing as Elvis Presley and concentrate on Dean Martin. He took over the role of Dean Martin in the Las Vegas production of the long-running and award-winning production "The Rat Pack Is Back". Since 2004 he has been playing Dean Martin in various productions touring throughout the U.s and internationally to countries such as Canada, Monaco, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia. He has appeared as Dean Martin in the hit TV Series "CSI Las Vegas" and the soon-to-be-released film "Las Vegas Vietnam" starring Eric Roberts. He was recently cast in the upcoming film comedy "A Dog And Pony Show" starring Mira Sorvino and Ralph Macchio and a collection of very talented live animals. NICHOLAS BROOKS - Sammy Davis Jr. NICHOLAS BROOKS was raised in Batavia, Illinois where at the early age of 8 would sing in his church. As he grew up he began acting in several theatrical productions and by age 12 was professionally singing in a young blues/rock band which led him joining R&B quintet Finesse. He was a featured background vocalist in "Sesame Street Live" and soon began to gain momentum by making a name for himself as a standout vocalist in the Batavia High School Swing Singers Show. In 2001 he was awarded the prestigious and coveted Down Beat Magazine's U.S. and Canadian Jazz Vocalist of the Year Award. This honour propelled him into the music scene on a National level. The Chicago Tribune recognised NICHOLAS BROOKS as “one of the top rising young stars in the U.S”. Upon his graduation, the City of Batavia, his hometown, awarded him with a Proclamation proclaiming May 11, 2002 NICHOLAS BROOKS Day. After signing a management contract his professional solo career rapidly began to excel in Las Vegas and abroad. By 2003 he was headlining theatres and his music was regularly featured local Las Vegas radio stations. He became one the youngest singers to have his name on a Vegas Strip Marquee in Las Vegas History. In 2006, NICHOLAS BROOKS brought his talents to the long running and award winning show "The Rat Pack Is Back". When the call went out for a performer to take on the role of legendary performer Sammy Davis Jr. NICHOLAS BROOKS met the challenge and became part of the cast in Las Vegas as well as the touring versions of that show and several other similar shows that toured nationally and internationally. His talents have brought him to many international destinations such as France, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Switzerland, Belgium, New Zealand, the Bahamas and Australia. It is in Australia that he is part of the original cast of The Rat Pack From Vegas which started in 2010 and continues to successfully tour through Australia, New Zealand, and most recently Germany. Another example of his versatility is his 2010 primetime debut on the hit television show "The Defenders" where he made regular guest star appearances. |
